Suspense as Sultan of Sokoto meets El-Rufai few hours after Sanusi’s visit
The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III on Monday, locked in a closed door deliberation with the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
The paramount ruler arrived at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House around 12:20 pm in a black SUV.
The Sultan’s visit comes barely 24 hours after the deposed Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido also visited El-Rufai in Kaduna.
A press release by the Kaduna State government revealed that the Sultan’s visit to Governor El-Rufai was personal.
Alhaji Sa’ad upon his arrival was received by the Secretary to the state Government, Balarabe Abbas, Chief of Staff Muhammad Sani Dattijo, State Commissioner Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan as well as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair Jafaru Sani Ibrahim.
The meeting was said to have taken place Governor’s personal office.
Meanwhile, insinuations have been going viral on the internet that Kano State Government has approached the Sultan of Sokoto to prevail over Sanusi against acting as Emir of Kano following his kinglike style of dressing, guards and use of motorcade in most of his personal outings since his outster as Emir of Kano in March, this year.
