Supporters of Peter Obi, ‘Obidients ignore police warning, stage rally at Lekki
The supporters of the presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi are currently staging a rally at the Lekki toll gate.
The Informant247 observes that the police command in Lagos state had earlier warned the supporters of Obi not to stage rally at the Lekki toll gate.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, Benjamin Hundeyin, was quoted to have said: ” It has become imperative to reemphasise that no form of rally whatsoever will be allowed at the Lekki Toll gate tomorrow.
“This emphasis has become necessary to enlighten Nigerians that might be misled into converging at the toll gate.”
In defiance to the warning earlier issued by the Police, many of the supporters of the presidential candidate marched in mass numbers at the Lekki-Epe Expressway, chanting ‘Obi! Obidient!’
A supporter identified as @Nkemchor shared pictures from the rallying point, affirming that police could not stop them.
“The police presence at Lekki did not stop youths from gathering. Very proud of this generation. If Lekki is your route join them!”
Another supporter who was identified as @eklepatience also tweeted, “All we want is a genuine leader that’s ready to serve Nigerians we’re not asking for too much nah, just give us Peter Obi. Festac Lagos is Obidient.”
