Stakeholders, religious leaders applaud Saliu Mustapha’s lifesaving medical outreach
…laud him as a God-sent leader
Stakeholders, rural residents, and religious leaders have expressed immense gratitude for Senator Saliu Mustapha’s free medical outreach, praising the initiative as timely and lifesaving.
The program, which covered all four local government areas in Kwara Central, has been hailed for addressing the pressing healthcare needs of the people.
The outreach, organized in collaboration with the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Budo Egba, was launched on Sunday at the Oke-Oyi main market in Ilorin East and extended to Tanke in Ilorin South, the Emir of Ilorin’s Palace forecourt in Ilorin West, and Alapa in Asa Local Government.
Over four days, beneficiaries received free treatment for a wide range of conditions, including malaria, hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, asthma, and gastrointestinal disorders.
Medical professionals provided thorough check-ups, distributed medications, and delivered health education to hundreds of attendees.
During the closing ceremony in Alapa, Alhaji Ahmad Ambali Abass, Chief Imam of the community, praised Senator Mustapha for his unwavering commitment to improving healthcare in underserved areas.
He described the senator as a “God-sent” leader who has brought hope to many in the community.
“Health is critical, and what Senator Mustapha has done here is invaluable. Many people have been silently suffering from health issues but couldn’t afford treatment. This outreach has given them a lifeline,” said Alhaji Abass.
Alhaji Anafi Abdulkadri, a community leader in Alapa and one of the outreach’s beneficiaries, stressed how the program has uncovered hidden health issues among residents, enabling them to take proactive steps toward managing their conditions.
“Many of us didn’t know the extent of our health problems until now. Thanks to the free tests and treatments, people can now take control of their health,” Abdulkadri noted.
Suebat Issa, another beneficiary, shared her relief at receiving free medication for diabetes, a condition she had struggled to manage due to the high cost of drugs.
“If not for this outreach, I wouldn’t have been able to access the medication I need. I’m deeply grateful to Senator Mustapha for his support,” she expressed.
Similarly, Falilat Usman, who attended the program with her daughter, commended the outreach for providing treatment to both of them.
“This initiative has helped my family in ways I can’t fully express. My daughter and I both received care, and I’m so thankful for that,” Usman shared.
The Director General of the Saliu Mustapha Foundation, Alhaji Ambali Adebayo, reiterated that the medical outreach is just one of many programs Senator Mustapha plans to roll out in Kwara Central.
He emphasized the senator’s dedication to improving healthcare, education, and economic empowerment in the district.
“This outreach is just the beginning. Senator Mustapha is fully committed to ensuring the well-being of his constituents, and more health-focused programs are in the pipeline,” Adebayo stated.
