The ongoing trials for Dani Alves has taken another dimension on Monday with Spanish prosecutors opposing the appeal by Dani Alves’ defense team for him to be freed on bail.

The prosecutors believe such idea would not be fair while investigation continues into sexual assault accusations against the Brazilian footballer.

Recall that Dani Alves still remains behind bars in Brians 2 Prison, located in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, near the Catalan capital of Barcelona.

He was taken to jail few weeks week ago after being accused of an alleged a sexual assault in a nightclub.

According to marca news, Alves’ lawyers had earlier last week filed an appeal saying the footballer has agreed to release his passport and wear a tracking device if he was freed.

In addition to that his defense also noted that Alves would also report to the court and to authorities as often as required, including daily.

His lawyer also prayed that he would not also go within 500 meters (yards) of the accuser or her home or workplace.

However, Prosecutors argued on Monday that the court risk losing Alves  if he was set free.

Alves, who has denied all the allegations had a judge ordered him to be jailed without bail after analyzing the initial probe by authorities and hearing testimony from Alves, the alleged victim, and a witness.

It was also reported that the judge who had taken testimony from eight witnesses at a closed hearing in Barcelona last week will decide whether the case should go to trial.

Meanwhile, Prosecutors also opposed the request made by some local nightclub associations to be part of those accusing Alves.
