Kwara United will on Thursday, May 8, 2024 play host to Rivers United in the NPFL rescheduled matchday 23.
The game will be played at the main bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex at 4pm.
The match was rescheduled due to Rivers United CAF confederation cup engagement. Rivers United were eliminated from the competition after recording a 2-1 loss on aggregate to the Algerian side, US Algiers in the quarter-final.
Kwara United currently occupy 14th position on the log with 40 points while Rivers United are sitting 13th on the same table with the same points, edging the harmony boys on goal difference.
While Kwara United held the pride of rivers to a goalless draw in their first leg match last year October, the harmony boys will be looking forward to a victory when they host the Coach Stanley Eguma side .
Both teams have met 20 times. While Kwara United won four of the games, Rivers United FC has won eight of the matches while eight matches had ended in a draw.
Still brimming in the euphoria of their 4-1 win over Calabar Rovers in the President Federation Cup, Kwara United are going into the game in high spirits against the travelling Rivers United who recorded a 1-2 loss to Remo Stars in their last league game.
