Share youths back Hon Owolabi’s re-election bid, donate campaign vehicle

Youths in Share, Ifelodun Locak Government Area of Kwara State have backed Hon. AbdulRazaq Owolabi’s reelection bid.

Owolabi, representing Share/Oke-Ode state constituency, is currently intensifying efforts to retain his office as the party prepares for its primaries.

The youths under the aegis of a political group AMTECH disclosed this on Saturday while donating an Hilux vehicle to support the lawmaker’s campaign.

The group led by its chairman Olayemi AbdulAzeez said they bought the vehicle in order to ease the movement of the honourable’s campaign team.

The vehicle was fully branded in the party’s colours of light blue green, white and red, with the Governor, AbdulRahman AbsulRazaq and the lawmaker’s picture on it.

Pay back time

Olayemi said the gesture was in appreciation of the honourable’s merit out contribution serving the people of his constituency.

“This is payback time. He has served us well and we are please with him. We want him to continue hence we bring this little gift (the vehicle) as our contribution to his re-election campaign. I can assure you he has our support and that of our kinsmen in Share. 90 percent of his constituents are comfortable with his representation and want him to continue,” Olayemi said.IMG 20220522 WA0004

Also speaking, one of the stakeholders, Akanbi Babatunde Hameed said the lawmaker belongs to Share as much as he belongs to Babloma, adding that he has contributed numerously to the development of Share town.

He said, “Yes, we know that the honorable is an indigene of Babalomo, but both Babalomo and Share are the same. When we see someone going forward we should try our best to allow him move forward also when he has reach the top the rest of us can also reach the top. I will advise our people in Share not allow politics of division. But rather, let us go with someone that is competent.

We that are followers of honorable rasak owolabi he has take good impact. I challenge anyone that has impacted our town like Honourable Owolabi is doing to come out and list it. We won’t be blindfolded. We know the right person for the job.”

Owolabi ensures we enjoy dividend of democracy

For Aremu Olamilekan Abuldlateef of Adejoku compound in Share town, he said, unlike before, the lawmaker opened their eye and made them enjoy dividend of democracy.IMG 20220522 WA0005

He said, “I want to thank my honourable for the good things he is doing, he maye us realize that there are more advantages in standing with someone that can go out and represent the people with merit. We saw the previous lawmakers, we use to pity them because we think they can make impact in their little position. It is only now when we see the giant strides that our honourable is doing that we realized we had been fooled all along.”

This has never happened before

He furthered, “I don’t think that it has happened before for a state lawmaker to dig boreholes for his constituents, he rolled out empowerment, distributed cars, machines, motorcycles, among others. That is why we are supporting him. We will do everything it takes to ensure he win this forthcoming election.

Abdulkareem Kudirat narrated how the lawmaker facilitated the repair If waterworks, renovated schools and foot medical bills of his constituents.

She said, “With his numerous achievements, we in Share, both the youth and the elderly ones, have agreed to vote for Honorable Owolabi in 2023.

This is a call to do more

Reacting to the donation of the vehicle, Honourable Owolabi thanked the youth of Share, stressing that their gesture will charge him to do more when re-elected into office.

He said he had always done his part in fulfilment of the mandate given to him by the people and not because he was expecting something in return.

Vowing to do more, he said, “I know Team Amtech as a group with straightforward people. They use to say it as it is. That made them so popular and reliable. They saw the impact I am making in my own little way and they felt I am doing well. So within themselves, they contributed money buy this car and branded it. I am so happy and I pray I won’t disappoint them if reelected to office.”

On his reflection bid, he said, “Some people have been shouting around that people of Share should vote for their indigene. Yes, I am from Babaloma but I was born and breed in Share. So that makes me both a son of Share and Babaloma. People shouldn’t look at indigene to vote but father contributions and impact. I am recontesting and I will win and I will do more and more. In fact, more than expected this time around.”

Also in the area of representation, he vowed to raised more motion and present bills that will have impact on people of Share/Oke-Ode and Kwara State at large.

“Governor AbdulRahman is doing well. There is nothing much again. No need to complain again because he has won already. What we just do is to to go to the ballot and do affirmation. He is a man of the people.”
