Seven shops destroyed as fire guts Omu-Aran market
There was a fire incident in Omu-Aran Market in Kwara on Saturday.
The Media and Publicly Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, said seven shops were destroyed by the fire outbreak.
Adekunle made this known in a statement sent to THE INFORMANT247.
According to him, the fire brigade was able to reach the scene in time to contain the outbreak and prevent about 230 shops from getting razed.
He added the incident happened around 2:00am on Saturday, saying that the cause of the fire was a result of an electric spark in one of the affected shops.
He said, “immediately the Kwara State Fire Service arrived, the fire was quickly put under control. This audacious performance of the Brigade has really made the entire people of Omu-Aran town to enjoy and appreciate Kwara State Fire Service job even more.”
