Senator Mustapha offers N300M full University scholarships to 300 indigent Students in Kwara
Senator Saliu Mustapha, the lawmaker representing Kwara Central, has offered full university scholarships worth over N300 million to 300 indigent students across his constituency.
The annual initiative, which began last year with 200 beneficiaries, is aimed at empowering brilliant young people and ensuring that financial constraints do not limit their pursuit of higher education.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Monday, the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee, Prof. Binta Sulyman, disclosed that payment of tuition fees for the beneficiaries has already commenced.
She noted that the scholarship is strictly merit-based, adding that all beneficiaries drawn from across the Kwara Central Senatorial District scored 250 and above in their JAMB UTME.
Prof. Binta further explained that the scholarship will cover the students’ tuition fees from their first year to their final year in various Kwara-based institutions.
She congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to remain focused and excel academically in order to make Senator Mustapha proud.
Parents of the beneficiaries have expressed profound gratitude to Senator Mustapha, describing the scholarship as a transformative gesture that eases their financial burdens and offers their children the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams.
They prayed for God’s blessings upon the Senator, asking that God guide him as he continues to impact lives positively through his quality representation at the National Assembly.
Many parents also commended the merit-based selection, noting that it rewards hard work, motivates students to excel, and inspires hope across the community.
The beneficiaries are expected to be formally unveiled to the public at a ceremony to be held soon.
