Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has wooed the Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP).
Gamdjue, while addressing the newsmen after a stakeholders’ meeting in Kano, said the meeting resolved to open APC doors to others who want to join the ruling party.
He said, “We are appealing to those who want to join APC to come. In particular, we are inviting the Governor of Kano and his NNPP to join APC.”
The national chairman asked party members not to get discouraged over the loss of the governorship election case at the Supreme Court, adding that as true democrats, members should thank God.
Some senators and members of the House of Representatives, Ganduje said, have joined APC, assuring that very soon, some governors would defect to the ruling party,
He said Tinubu loves Kano and insisted that the state should produce the Deputy Senate president despite enormous pressure.
All former Commissioners and Chief executives of parastatals who served under Ganduje attended the meeting.
The Informant247 reports that the Supreme Court sitting in Abuja on Friday, January 12, affirmed the election of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP)
Justice Inyang Okoro-led five-member panel of justices of the Supreme Court had on Thursday, December 21, reserved judgment in the appeal over the Kano State governorship election after listening to lawyers in the matter.
It would be recalled that the Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf Kabir and the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) had filed the appeal challenging the November 17 judgment of the Court of Appeal, which nullified their victory in the March 19 governorship election, while also notifying the apex court of the contradictions in the CTC of the judgment which upheld the governor’s election and awarded him the sum of N1 million in damages.
