…donates N500,000 at book launch
…promises to gift Union a vehicle
Foremost philanthropist and frontline aspirant to the office of National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Saliu Mustapha; a former Grand Khadi of Kwara State Shariah Court, Justice Idris Abdullahi Haroon (Rtd) and Chairman, Governing Board of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), Engr. Suleiman Yahaya Alapansapa, FNSE were on Thursday present at the official public presentation of a book about the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari.
The book, which is the maiden edition of an annual publication of the Ilorin Emirate Student Union, National Headquarters, is titled ‘The Life and Achievement of the 11th Emir of Ilorin’.
The Union is the umbrella body of all students of Ilorin indigenous schooling within and outside the country.
The launch is chaired by Saliu Mustapha.
Others present at the event include the representative of the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology and the delegate of Ilorin Youth Development Association.
Speaking during the event, Justice Haroon (Rtd) urged the students to be of good behavior, stressing that they are the leaders of tomorrow.
He further tasked them on preserving their dignity, integrity and honour always.
For his part, the President of the Union, AbdulSalam AbdulWaheed stated that the book was compiled and published with the aim of showcasing the uniqueness of the birth, life and unquantifiable achievements of the monarch.
“On behalf of my team, I’ll like to appreciate our amiable father, Dr. Shaykh Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, his notable chiefs, our spiritual fathers for their always moral guidance. To Mall. Saliu Mustapha and others, we say a big thank you,” the president said.
Meanwhile, Saliu Mustapha donated the sum of N500,000 at the launch of the book. Engr. Alapansapa and Justice Haroon (Rtd) gave N100,000 and N50,000 respectively.
The president added that Saliu Mustapha also promised to purchase a vehicle for the association.
