Saliu Mustapha Foundation doles out scholarship to Ilorin Emirate indigenes

Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kwara Central, in furtherance to his philanthropic gesture, has doled out scholarship to Ilorin indigenes.

Mallam Saliu’s representative, Mr. Abdulkareem Alabi, speaking at the event championed by Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, said the foundation have championed countless empowerment programmes and that the Turaki of Ilorin is dedicated to develop education in the state.

“At Saliu Mustapha foundation, the Turaki use to tell us that whatever he gives the foundation as a private hard earned money, we should remove 50% of the resources for educational activities, that is where you will see free O’levels, at least a thousand form per annum, also school fees support for some parent who can’t afford their children’s fees.

“I want to indulge the beneficiaries to also make impact to education, no matter how small or liitttle you have, you should try to give back to the society, so that more people will benefit from you too.”

One of the beneficiaries of the scholarship programme, and a student of the University of Ilorin, Robiat, who received N200,000 cash hailed Turaki’s gesture.

The Ilorin Emirate Professor’s forum chose Robiat and 9 other Ilorin indigent-students for their outstanding performance.

Alh. Abdulfatai Bamidele, the President of Ilorin Emirate Professors Forum, said the forum earlier donated the sum of N500,000 to the 10 beneficiaries from the association’s purse, right before the Turaki contributed the sum of N2,000,000.

The president also said the forum is ready to donate a plot of land each, courtesy of Alh. Yemoja.
