Senator Saliu Mustapha, Turaki of Ilorin Emirate and Senator representing Kwara Central, has expressed his sorrow at the passing of Alhaji Abdulkareem Laaro Buhari Morogo III, the 11th Balogun Gambari of Ilorin, who died on Friday at the age of 97.
In a personally signed statement, Senator Mustapha extended his condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, HRH Dr. Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, the Gambari community, and the family of Alhaji Abdulkareem.
He also offered special condolences to his aide, Alhaji Sulyman Tunji Buhari, acknowledging the deep loss they all share.
The Senator described the late Alhaji Abdulkareem as a significant community leader who greatly contributed to the social and cultural heritage of the Ilorin Emirate.
“Alhaji Abdulkareem was a highly respected figure in our community, a man who epitomized the values of tradition, respect, and service. His passing leaves a great void, and he will be deeply missed,” Senator Mustapha remarked.
The Turaki of Ilorin prayed for the soul of the late former Senior Chancellor to rest in peace, and expressed hope that the family would find comfort in the cherished memories he left behind.
