Saliu Mustapha commiserates with Imam Bashir, Oloriewe over wife’s, mother’s death

A chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), Mallam Salihu Mustapha has commiserated with the families of Sheikh Solihu Mohammed-Bashir, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, and Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin, the Oloriewe of Oro kingdom, over the loss of their wife and mother respectively.

Hajia Hafsat Bashir and Mrs. Ajibike Adedoyin died last week and had since been buried according to Islamic rites.

The former Kwara gubernatorial aspirant, in a condolence message delivered at the residences of the bereaved, expressed sadness over what he described as the profound loss to the families and to the state at large.

At the residence of Imam Bashir, Mustapha recalled that he had had the privilege of a warmth reception by the late wife of the Imam the last time he was at their private residence at Agaka area of Ilorin.

“This was a profound experience for me, and judging by my short interactions with her, I know that the Bashirs have lost a strong pillar of the family. May the almighty Allah grant Hajia Hafsat eternal rest, just as we pray to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.”

At the Adedoyins’, Mustapha described the matriarch as a unique mix of gentleness and strength, humility and dignity; whose witty wisdom would be missed not only by the Oloriewe but everyone that had a connection with Mrs. Ajibike during her lifetime.

“There is no better testimony to the fulfilled life that the deceased lived than the rich heritage her children received and the way they all have not only carried this heritage forward but also enriched the legacy in their own individual endeavors,” the APC chieftain stated.

In his response, Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin expressed his appreciation for the condolence visit and thanked Mustapha for always identifying with the family from time to time.

Mustapha was represented on both occasions by a delegation of the leadership of the Saliu Mustapha Supporters (SMS) led by its anchorperson, Ambali Adebayo.

Others included Amb. Tajudeen Olesin; Alhaji Umar Agboola-Gambari; Hon. Bube Rasheed; Mr. Gidado Muhammad Bashir; among others.
