S.O. foundation deepens grassroots engagement with community leaders in Tanke, Kwara State
In a move to reaffirm its commitment to grassroots development and community empowerment, the Sulyman Olawale Foundation (S.O.F) paid a courtesy visit to the Alangua and 33 Magajis of Tanke area in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Led by the State Director, Mrs. Faridah Sulyman, the Foundation’s delegation included the Programme Manager, Mr. Habib Akewusola, and the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abdulsalam Abdultawwab Oluwatosin, FCIML, alongside other members. The visit served as an opportunity to build strong partnerships with traditional authorities and explore collaborative efforts for sustainable community development.
During the meeting, Mr. Abdultawwab, speaking on behalf of the Foundation, highlighted the organization’s mission to support vulnerable members of society. He shared details of S.O.F’s upcoming food distribution outreach, targeted at elderly citizens and women within the Tanke community, aimed at mitigating the impact of the current economic challenges.
The Foundation also unveiled plans for an educational scholarship scheme designed to benefit primary school pupils in the area, further demonstrating its focus on youth development and access to quality education.
In appreciation of the roles played by community leaders in fostering unity and development, the Foundation presented a symbolic cash donation to the Alangua and Magajis.
The Alangua, who fondly recalled the father of the Foundation’s Chairman — the late Alhaji Olanrewaju Sulyman, a former Local Government Chairman of Tanke — expressed heartfelt gratitude. He offered prayers for the continuous success of the Foundation and commended the team for sustaining the legacy of service to the people.
The visit marks another milestone in the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to uplift communities across Kwara State through targeted interventions in education, social welfare, and empowerment.
