Reps set to investigate killing of Lagos lawyer, ensure prosecution of police officers
The House of Representatives, on Wednesday, declared its readiness to commence investigation into the killing of Barrister Bolanle Raheem, a female Lagos lawyer by a police officer in Lagos on Christmas day.
It was in this regard that the Green Chamber has passed a resolution to begin a probe into the circumstances which triggered the incident.
The House has vowed to make sure the police officers were prosecuted accordingly.
The House in its sitting on Wednesday also observed a minute’s silence in honour of the deceased legal practitioner.
The resolutions were made following the adoption of a motion which was sponsored by Hon. Babajide Obanikoro (APC, Lagos) at the parliamentary sitting.
