Reports: Man Utd to open talk on signing Mason Mount

Manchester United are in pole position to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea when his deal expires next summer.

Reports say Mount is open to moving to Old Trafford and so United are now holding internal discussions over tabling a formal offer.

While it is unclear exactly what Chelsea’s asking transfer fee is for Mount, reports further suggested that the blues might demand as high as £60 million.

Meanwhile, interested clubs will believe they can secure a deal for less given the short time remaining on his contract and Chelsea’s need to move on players to trim a bloated squad.

Liverpool are also keen to sign to get the hand of the England international to book. Mount had a relatively battered relationship with Chelsea last season with issues around wages increment
