PRESS RELEASE
12-11-2017
It will be recalled that on the 5th of November 2017, at about 2130hrs, one Mrs Elizabeth Omotosho f’ of Lobalade Street, Tanke, Ilorin, was abducted by four armed men in her residence and taken to an unknown place. The command was jolted with the news owing to the strength of security architecture on ground by the command. Nonetheless, the Commissioner of Police Kwara State Cp Lawan Ado, personally led a team of detectives with support from the Inspector General of Police’s IRT, Abuja, with determination to get her rescued unhurt. The abductors were circled in around same Tanke area ilorin where our findings through the use of modern technology indicated they were holed up, unable to move further away, due to the security cordon woven around the entire area by men of the police command , we monitored their calls with the help of advance tracking equipment put to use by the detectives, which also made it difficult for the abductors to either demand nor recieve any ransom.
This informed the statement by the Commissioner of Police Kwara State, while addressing the Press on Friday 10th of November 2017 that the Command had zeroed in on the abductors and that they would soon be arrested. The pressure was so much on the abductors and they figured that, their waterloo was handy, hence they were left with no choice than to let the abducted woman off without any ransom and unharmed on the night of Friday 10/11/2017.
The Command is through this medium assuring members of the public of their safety and security, as the Command has vowed to ensure they sleep with their two eyes closed. Criminals are also in their own interest advised to either repent or get out of Kwara state, else they will be arrested and dealt with in the accordance with the law.
