Presidential Tribunal: Court merges Atiku, Obi petitions

The petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), and their presidential candidates have been consolidated by the Presidential Election Petition Court, while also fixed May 30 for the commencement of trial, whereas the three petitioners will be expected to call their first sets of witnesses.

Justice Haruna Tsamani, the Chairman of the Tribunal, disclosed on Tuesday while presenting the court pre-hearing report.

The Informant247 gathered that PDP, LP and APM are all challenging the outcome of the presidential election, that saw the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahned Tinubu, being declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Asiwaju Tinubu was announced winner of February 25 presidential election after he polled a total of 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rivals in PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who 6,984,520 votes and Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP), who scored a total of 6,101,533.
