POS operator appears in court over alleged stealing of N543,867
Gloria Aduwo, a 42-year-old POS operator, on Wednesday appeared in Lagos’ Court over alleged stealing of N543,867 from her principal.
Aduwo has been charged by the police with theft.
When the matter was read to the defendant, she, however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Dr Simon Uche, who’s the Prosecution Counsel, informed the court that the defendant carried outl the offence in June at the tradefair complex in Ojo.
He made an allegation that the defendant who’s a POS operation worker of the complainant Mary Okparachuwku, illegally took away funds of the POS.
He said the defendant stole N64, 645, N317, 650, and N161,900, which was a daily contribution, and which belonged to the complainant
He said the offence, was in contravention of the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
L.J.k Layeni, the Magistrate granted the defendant a bail in the sum of N200,000 plus two sureties in like sum
He has adjourned the matter until December 7 for trial.
