Popular governorship candidate, Abe escapes assassination in Rivers
Luck was on Monday on the side of the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, as he escaped assassination plotted by some unknown gunmen.
The political actor escaped being assassinated by unknown gunmen who launched attack on his campaign train at Akinima community in Ahoada-West local government area of the State.
The Informant247 learned that the politician and his team of supporters paid a visit to Ubeta and other communities in the area before moving to Akinima, where they were eventually attacked.
In a video which was revealed by his media organization, members of the campaign team could be seen running for their own lives during the incident.
Reacting, Abe said: “We went there and they went and used two vehicles to block the road so that we cannot get there.
“Nigeria is a democracy and all of us have the right to go to the people and share our ideas with them. If you have ruled the people for seven years, the people should be happy with you.
“If people are not happy with you it is because you are not doing well. Now, you are sending people’s children to come and block other politicians from talking to the people.”
The guber candidate, however, did not reveal the identity of those he’s referring to as the culprits.
