Police summon former Governor over alleged kidnapping, murder

The former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has been summoned by the police command in the state over alleged arson, murder and kidnapping.

The security agency also summoned Ihedioha’s deputy, Gerald Irona and the spokesperson for the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Ikenga Ugochinyere.

“The office of State Intelligence Bureau, Imo State Police Command, state Headquarters Owerri, is investigating the above-underlined case involving some prominent members of Peoples Democratic Party, Imo State chapter,” said the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, Ukachi Opara, in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Charles Ugwu.

“The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command requests you come along with the following persons, Emeka Ihedioha, Ugochinyere Ikenga Imo, Gerald Irona, to interview the commissioner of police, through the officer in charge of State Intelligence Bureau, Owerri date Thursday, March 16, 2023, time 10:00 prompt.”

The invitation by the police was confirmed by the spokesperson for the PDP in the state, Collins Opuruozor and the legal adviser of the party, Kissinger Ikeokwu.
