Police secure release of kidnapped DPO in Plateau
The Plateau State Police Command has secured the release of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Pankshin, SP Nwapi Augustus, who was kidnapped by gunmen.
The spokesperson of the police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, made this disclosure in a statement released on Sunday in Jos.
”The officer has been taken to the hospital for medical examination and treatment, and will soon be reunited with his family,” he said.
The spokesperson also said that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Bartholomew Onyeka, had mobilised a tactical force to ensure that the brains the criminality are arrested and made to face justice.
The Informant247 earlier reported that bandits kidnapped the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Report has it that the police boss, popularly addressed as SP Lareee, was kidnapped, Thursday, January 12, 2023, at WOKTORI Hotel in Pankshin.
The Informant247 learned that the police chief was just resuming work in the area as the DPO, a day before the incident happened.
A policeman in the area, on Thursday, January 12, 2023, revealed that the DPO was abducted by the bandits after shooting at him in his hotel room.
