Kogi House of Assembly members sacked from their quarters

Floods have sacked members of the Kogi State House of Assembly from their quarters.

The Informant247 gathered that floods have occupied over nine (9) local government areas in Kogi State.

The affected local government areas are Kogi-Koto, Lokoja, Ofu, Ajaokuta, Bassa, Igalamela-Odolu, Ibaji, Idah, and Omala.

The Informant247 finds out that the floods disturbing Kogi State and other areas of the federation have continued to intensify as the water level increases day by day.

It was gathered that more households have been affected along the rivers Benue and Niger.

Report has it that the Kogi State House of Assembly Quarters along Ganaja road have been seriously affected as some members of Assembly have moved to an unrevealed camp within the metropolis.

The residence of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker’ within the quarters have been occupied by the flood.

Efforts to communicate with passersby sighted around the affected area were not successful as many of them were not ready to address the press.

Some sources who spoke as anonymous, expressed their sadness over the manner the Governor of the State, Yahaya Bello did not pay a visit to the affected quarters as he did at other affected areas within Lokoja.

Hon. Victor Omofaiye, the Commissioner of Environment, who was once their colleague, has been condemned for neglecting the people of the quarters.
