Police report reveals Unilorin student consumed hard drugs before beating lecturer

A Magistrate’s Court in Ilorin has remanded one Salaudeen Waliu Aanuoluwa, expelled 400-level Microbiology student in the Ilorin Correctional Service Centre for allegedly beating up a female lecturer, Mrs Rahmat Zakariyat.

According to Police report, it was revealed that the suspect, had consumed some hard drugs before going to the lecturer’s office, who is his SIWES Industrial Training coordinator.

It was gathered that the suspect banged the female lecturer’s table, shouting that the lecturer should give him mark for the industrial programme he did not participate in.

According to report, Waliu allegedly punched the lecturer when she rejected the demand and beat her to stupor to the extent of breaking the window glass, with an attempt to use the pieces to stab her.

Recall that the University of Ilorin management has expelled him from the school and asked him to submit all the necessary items belonging to the institution such as I.D card and gave him 48 days to appeal the judgment if he has any counterclaims.

The trial Magistrate, Muhammed Ibrahim, who presided over the matter, ordered Waliu’s remand, while the matter was adjourned to 26th of this month.
