Police in Yola seize 1000 sachets of Tramadol concealed in TV, sound speakers
The Police in Adamawa have confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with 1,000 sachets of Tramadol concealed in a Television and Sound speakers in Yola.
learned that ASP Sulaiman Nguroje, the Police Spokesperson in the state, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Yola.
Nguroje said that the suspects; Kabiru Muhammed, 41, and Musa Abubakar, 29, were residents of Hotoro and Takum in Kano and Taraba states, respectively.
He said that the suspects were arrested while on their way to deliver the hard drugs to their target in Yola.
“Following the intensive and special action plan on the fight against crimes in the state, on Thursday, 24th March 2022, the State Command made a remarkable arrest.
“The Commissioner of police in the state, Mohammed Barde, deployed operatives attached to Jambutu and Doubeli Police Divisions and luckily apprehended a drug dealer along with fake NDLEA personnel.
“The suspects are Kabiru Muhammed, 41, and Musa Abubakar, 29.
“Investigation so far reveals that the suspects were arrested with about 1,000 of 100mg of dangerous substances believed to be Tramadol concealed in a Television and a sound system (speaker) to beat security and escape arrest,” he said.
Nguroje said that the commissioner of police has directed the immediate investigation of the suspects.
He said after a thorough investigation they would be handed over to the state command of NDLEA.
Nguroje, therefore, called on residents to work with the Police and other security agencies in the joint tasks of safeguarding the state.
He noted that provision and maintaining the security of lives and property was a collective responsibility of good citizens, urging the people to collaborate with security personnel, especially in the area of providing useful, relevant, and timely information.
