The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Musiliu Smith, has resigned his appointment.
PSC Head of Information, Ikechukwu Ani, has confirmed his resignation of appointment to newsmen.
The spokesperson revealed that the commission will soon issue an official statement.
The notice of resignation reportedly written by Smith to President Muhammad Buhari has been approved.
The former chairman is to hand over to Justice Clara Ogunbiyi retired, who’s representing the judiciary at the commission.
The Informant247 recalls that 76-year-old Smith was appointed Inspector General of Police in May 1999 and retired in March 2002.
Meanwhile, Ogunbiyi, 74, is an ex Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
