Police arrest suspected armed robber, recover gun in Lagos
A man, Azeez Jimoh, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police over alleged armed robbery at the Meiran area of the state.
The spokesperson of the police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development, Friday on his official Twitter page.
He disclosed that the suspected armed robber was apprehended, Thursday at 11:50 p.m. by police officers of Meiran Division.
“On 15/12/2022 at about 2350 hrs., three men using a motorcycle while robbing pedestrians spotted Meiran Division patrol officers and took to their heels.
“After a hot pursuit, Azeez Jimoh was arrested with a locally made pistol, three unexpended cartridges and eight stolen phones, wristwatch, a security chain and padlock and N93,200 cash,” he said.
The spokesman added that police officers are currently making efforts to apprehend the fleeing two other suspects.
