Police arrest 14 men in Adamawa for alleged house-to-house robbery

No fewer than fourteen suspects have been arrested by operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command for alleged house-to-house robbery in Yola North and Yola South local government areas.

The police command on Thursday, said that it recovered one Audi vehicle, six computer sets, two TV sets, and some quantities of hard drugs.

The command, in a statement released by Police Public Relations Officer Suleiman Nguroje, named the suspects as Awal Inusa, 18 years old; Abdul Bakari, 32; Saidu Umaru, 22; Buba Bakari, 20; Umar Inusa, 20; and Muhammad Umar, 20.

The others are Yau Abdulkarim, 19; Adamu Gaya, 20; Abubakar Yusuf, 22; Husseina Ibrahim, 40; Umar Adamu, 22; Adamu Usman, 28; Hassan Adamu, 20; and Mustapha Isa, 53.

According to the Police, the suspects who are residents of different areas have confessed to robbery of household items and money and rustling of 34 cows.

“The suspects during interrogation confessed to committing the offence of house to house robbery within Yola North and Yola South LGAs and rustling 34 cows, among others”, Nguroje said.

He, however, said the Command’s operatives attached to State CID and Crack squad, apprehended the 14 suspects earlier in the week.
