Patronise locally made products to grow our economy, NOA tells Nigerians
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged Nigerians to patronise locally-made products and services to grow the nation’s economy.
The Agency’s Director-General, Dr. Garba Abari, said this in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.
The statement said that Abari spoke at the closing of a two-day Made-in-Nigeria Products Exhibition organized by NOA with the theme: “Promoting Local Production and Services to Boost National Economic Development’’.
He said the purpose of the exhibition was to complement the Federal Government’s efforts to grow and sustain the nation’s economy.
According to Abari, the agency is working with regulators, investors, investment promoters, and potential markets toward deepening the penetration of local goods in the country.
He said most importantly, the agency was partnering with both public and private sector stakeholders at all levels to improve the quality and patronage of locally made goods and services.
Abari said a comprehensive report on the exhibition would form part of the agency’s engagements with the Presidency, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The DG commended the manufacturing sector in the country for keeping faith with the country, as reflected in the high quality of local goods that were showcased during the exhibition.
He urged Nigerians to demonstrate similar faith in locally made products, adding that without sufficient local patronage of local products, the survival of any economy could not be guaranteed.
