Findings from the local government’s financial records show that a total of N68,263,473 was released under the budget line tagged “Purchase of Motor Vehicle” (code: 23010105) for the procurement of a vehicle for the Executive Chairman.

The expenditure was listed under capital projects and financed from statutory allocations to the council within the period under review.

In a separate provision, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Aina Janet of the council is also to receive a vehicle valued at N70 million this year.

Details from the budget document show that N70,000,000 was earmarked under the line “Purchase of Vehicles for the Vice Chairman” (code: 23010105), also listed as a capital expenditure item.

The allocation is expected to be funded from the council’s statutory allocations for the year.
