Two persons have lost their lives on Friday in a Mazda bus accident around Christopher University on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The Spokesperson, Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the news of the accident to newsmen in Abeokuta, said 12 others had varying degrees of injuries.
Akinbiyi noted that the accident occured at 1:10p.m. and was as a result of a burst tyre, which led to the driver’s lost of control and the bus with registration number APP 417 XU summersaulting.
He said that 18 persons, 15 male and three female were in the accident.
According to sources, the bus was from Lagos enroute Ibadan, before the sad encounter that cost the life of one of the passengers in the process.
Two died while nine got injured in the accident on Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
“The second person died at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) where he was rescued to by Ogun State Ambulance and Emergency Services, (OGSAES),” he said.
Akinbiyi narrated that the victims were rushed to OOUTH and Idera hospital Sagamu by men of the OGSAEC.
He condoled the families of the deceased and urged motorists to take cognizance of passengers safety at all time.
