A prophet, Godson Nse Thompson, 32, has been held in Uyo Correctional Centre, Akwa Ibom State for an alleged defilement of a 13-year-old girl.
The young girl was sent to him for intercessory prayers.
The accused pastor, from Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, reportedly took the victim to his residence, with the excuse of wanting to pray for her, but ended up raping her.
While revealing her side of the story in court, the young girl, who’s a senior secondary school one student in a government school, said she was taken to a church at Information Drive in Uyo for prayers on Friday, July 10, 2020.
She said that she was later left in the church by her in-law (her sister’s husband) around 6pm. The pastor then requested that she accompanies him to pray for someone, which she agreed to do.
The pastor, according to the victim, took the young girl to his house, gave her a black liquid substance to consume and then raped her.
She said that the alleged pastor denied her chance to escape, but she said she later escaped because the pastor has forgot to close the door.
The victim narrated that different colors of ladies panties and women’s pictures were seen at the prophet’s house.
She said she has been bleeding from private parts ever since the incident has happened.
“My in-law took me to a church by IBB Way, Uyo around 6pm and promised to pick me up by 7pm. When my in-law left the church, the accused person made a phone call to a tricyclist and the tricyclist rode in. He (the suspect) asked me to enter the tricycle saying he was going to pray for two persons and that he would also pray for me.
“When we got there, he prayed for the first and second persons. Thereafter, he and I trekked to the main road and he stopped a tricycle and we both entered it. At a certain point, the tricyclist stopped and the accused person said I should wait for him.
“He entered one compound and he took me to a room. He locked the door and told me to undress,” she stated.
The judge, Justice Bassey Nkanang, has adjourned the case to August 1, 2022 for continuation of trial.
