The Nigeria record holder and Kwara-born Para-badminton player, Eniola Bolaji is looking forward to another big achievement at the ongoing 4th edition of Dr. Mr. Nkechi Ikpeazu National Para-badminton championship in Umuahia, Abia State.
Eniola Bolaji, became the first African to reach the final of a major para-badminton international championship and win gold last year in Spain.
A protege of the late Coach Bello Oyebanji, she won the 2021 Spanish Para-Badminton International Championship in Cartegena by defeating Ukraine’s Oksana Kozyna 18-21, 21-14, 21-18.
Eniola,who has been drawn Bye in the first round of the championship holding at International Conference Centre Umuahia will swing to action in the quarter-final of the show.
“Firstly, this is my first national championship. Secondly, I want to keep my record while I intend to make more fame and secure more sponsorship” said the world number 8 in an exclusive chat with Informant247.
The tournament proper which started on Wednesday, February 14th will end on 17th.
