Pantami’s son found in Bauchi checkpoint hours after allegedly kidnapped
The son of the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Professor Ali Isa Pantami, who was kidnapped, has been reportedly found at a checkpoint in Bauchi, gathered.
According to Daily Trust, the Minister’s son, Alamin Isa Pantami, was found on Friday at a checkpoint in Dambam, a Local Government Area in Bauchi State, some hours after he was allegedly kidnapped.
It was, however, not confirmed if any ransom was paid to get him rescued.
Alamin was said to be living with his grandmother.
One of Alamin’s guardians who confirmed his release said, “We just left the house; he is back home now. He was found in Dambam, where his abductors dropped him. They dropped him at a checkpoint and from there, he was brought home.”
The Chief Imam of Isa Ali Jummaat Mosque, Imam Hussaini, who was also contacted said that the boy was home.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer in Bauchi, Mohammed Ahmed Wakil told newsmen that after he was contacted over the issue, he reached out to all the Divisional Police Officers in the metropolis who said the matter was not reported.
He, however, advised members of the public to assist with credible information on the movement of dubious characters in their midst for necessary action, adding that they should always report any problem to the police.
