“Painful and Regrettable”- Kwara United apologise to fans after CAF Confederation Cup exit

Kwara United Football Club has tendered an apology to its fans and stakeholders following their elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup at the preliminary stage.

The Harmony Boys were knocked out 5-3 on aggregate by Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, after suffering a 1-0 defeat in the return leg on Sunday. Hubert Gyalu’s 53rd-minute strike sealed the Porcupine Warriors’ progression and ended Kwara United’s continental campaign.

Reacting to the result, the club’s chairman, Mr. Kumbi Titiloye, described the early exit as “painful and regrettable.” He appealed for forgiveness from supporters and assured them of the team’s resolve to bounce back.

“We sincerely apologize to our loyal fans and supporters for this disappointing outcome. It was never our plan to crash out at this stage,” said.

“We are determined to return stronger, correct our mistakes in the league, and give our supporters reasons to celebrate again.”Kwara United now shift focus to the domestic league as they seek redemption after their short-lived continental campaign.
