Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been sidelined for one month due to a groin injury.
This was confirmed by Nottingham Forest Manager Steve Cooper ahead of their 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Cooper described the injury as a blow to the team and hopes that Awoniyi comes back soon once he recovers from a groin problem.
“He’s out for a month. He did it in the game against Brentford…Of course it is a blow. He’s been our man up front”.
“He’s been injured before and came back really strong, so he knows he can do it. He’ll commit to that.
This development also means that the former Union Berlin talisman will not feature in Nigeria’s upcoming friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique due to injury.
” We’ll get T into recovery and rehab as quick as we can. We’ll give every help we can give him, because we know his attitude will be great as he tries to get back with us as soon as possible.” said Cooper.
The international break is expected to limit the games Awoniyi is likely to miss while out of action.
While the Reds will end October with matches against Luton Town and Liverpool, Awoniyi is Hopefully of a return in early November and could see him available for the City Ground clash with Aston Villa on Bonfire Night.
