The Oyo State government has firmly denied recent reports circulating on a blog regarding alleged recruitment into the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, refuting them as entirely false.
In a statement released on Thursday, Mrs. Olaide Ladipo, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, clarified the situation and emphasized that there is no ongoing recruitment for any positions within the board.
“Once again, the Oyo State government wishes to inform the public that there is no recruitment taking place within the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board at this time,” Mrs. Ladipo stated.
She urged the public to ignore any misleading information regarding recruitment and advised them to promptly report any fraudulent activities by individuals falsely claiming to represent the state government to the relevant authorities.
Mrs. Ladipo further emphasized, “Please disregard any recruitment-related information circulating on social media or other platforms attributed to the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, as it is entirely baseless. We will officially announce any recruitment for vacant positions through the appropriate channels.”
In a separate development, the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board has inaugurated the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) at the Oyo State Model Smart School in Sogunro, Akinyele, Ibadan.
Mrs. Ladipo explained that this initiative aims to enhance governance and improve the effectiveness of educational systems at the foundational level of education within the state.
The Acting Executive Secretary encouraged the committee members to work closely with the Oyo State government to accomplish their shared objectives. She elaborated that the SBMC comprises ten members, each drawn from the local community of the school.
Mrs. Ladipo noted that the establishment of SBMCs was a resolution adopted by the National Council of Education (NCE) in 1995. The primary purpose is to enhance the governance of basic and secondary schools and provide a sustainable platform for the active participation of stakeholders and non-governmental support for these schools.
The announcement was made by the Media Team of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, located in Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State.
