Over 54 million Nigerians are fully vaccinated against COVID-19: NPHCDA

The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency said Thursday that more than 60 million people in Nigeria had been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Faisal Shuaib, the executive director of the agency spoke in Abuja during the its COVID-19 performance review meeting.

He added that over 60 million have taken the first dose of the vaccine.

He said the agency had targeted vaccinating 70 percent of the eligible population by December 2022 and had exceeded expectations by fully vaccinating 53 % of the population, 63% for the first dose.

He commended the governors of Nasarawa, Jigawa, Kwara, Kaduna and Borno States for providing the resources for primary health care.
