The organizers of the West Africa Journalism Conference (WAJIC’23) have recently announced that the two-day event will bring together over 300 journalists from across Africa.
In a statement, the organizing body highlighted the overwhelming response to the conference, with more than 760 applications received out of which 300 were selected. The conference will provide opportunities for both physical and virtual participation.
“#WAJIC’23 will gather over 300 journalists, media professionals, academics, policymakers, and government institutions, all driven by a shared objective of fostering innovation for a sustainable future. Beyond being a conference, it serves as a collaborative platform for networking and establishing meaningful connections that have the potential to transform the journalism landscape in West Africa,” the statement explained.
The conference is scheduled to take place from July 24th to July 26th in Abuja.
Meanwhile, Shola Saliu Taofeeq, Publisher of the Informant247, Salihu Ayatullahi, the Editor, and Yemi Sodeeq, a reporter, are among those selected to attend the event.
