Osun Gov. Adeleke vows to appeal tribunal judgment
The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has condemned the judgment given by the state’s governorship tribunal on Friday, January 27, 2023.
The Governor referred to the judgment as “a miscarriage of justice”.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, on Friday, January 27, 2023, he promised to challenge the judgment at the Court of Appeal.
While commenting on the outcome of the tribunal from his residence, in Ede, Osun State, he condemned the output of the tribunal.
He also described the verdict of the tribunal as an unfair interpretation that’s in conflict with the will of majority of voters”
He told his supporters not to panick and promised to appeal the judgment at the Appeal Court.
Adeleke said he’s the authentic winner of the governorship election which took place in July 16, 2022.
While urging his supporters to remain calm, Governor Adeleke vowed to appeal the judgement at the Court of Appeal, insisting he remains the rightful winner of the July 16 election.
“I call on our people to remain calm. We will appeal the judgement and we are sure justice will be done. Let our people be reassured that we will do everything possible to retain this widely acclaimed mandate”, Governor Adeleke declared.
The Informant247 earlier reported that the former Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola defeated the incumbent Governor of the State, Ademola Adeleke at the election petition tribunal.
The election petition tribunal sacked the sitting Governor of the State.
The Informant247 recalls that the immediate past Governor of the State in August 2022, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenge the electoral success of Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the election tribunal.
The immediate past Governor alleged that there’s overvoting in 749 polling units across 10 LGAs of the state.
