Osimhen scores as Napoli makes history with victory over Udinese

Napoli on Saturday secured their 11 consecutive win in the Serie A with a 3-2 victory over Udinese at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples.

While goals from Victor Osimhen, Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas had handed the hosts a total control of the game, the Spalleti boys had to survive a scare from their visitors towards the end of the match with strikes from Ilija Nestorovski and Lazar Samardzic causing them many stretches.

With the victory, Napoli becomes the only second team in the Serie A history to win at least 13 of the first 15 games played of a single campaign, after Juventus (four times for the Bianconeri, 2018/19, 2013/14, 2005/06 and 1949/50).

The result also creates an 11 points gap on the table between Napoli and Lazio who will play Juventus on Sunday.

For Victor Osimhen, his goal on Saturday has also extended his lead on the top scorer charts with 9 goals followed by Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan and Marco Arnautovic who have Seven goals each.
