NPFL To observe 14-Day mid-season break.
The league management company(LMC) has revealed its decision to observe a 14-day mid-season break after the end of the first round.
The first stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) will end this weekend with the matchday 19 going down across centres.
In a letter released on Wednesday, March 16, LMC said ” As part of our tradition, a 14-day mid-season break will be observed at the end of the matches of the first round after matchday 19″
The break, according to the LMC has also occasionsed the need to adjust the fixtures of the league in order reflect the new development.
While matchday 20 will now be played on 3rd of April, the following fixtures have also been billed for 6th of April.
Clubs are expected to seize the time of the break to perhaps sign new legs while players would also have opportunity to move to other teams.
Going into the last round with a game to spare, Rivers United are sitting top of the table with 39 points and are followed closely by Plateau United who have 38 points.
And while MFM FC are rock bottom with 16 points from 18 games, Dakkada FC are occupying 19th position on the log with 18 points.
