Transition, they say, is the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another.
This can be said to be a positive one for the Kwara State government as record showed a great improvement in the 2019 budget performance, it was such a great feat, I must say.
As stated in the 2019 State Financial Statement, 52% of capital and 98% of recurrent of the budget was achieved, incredible performance, one must commend the driver, Kudos to the Governor.
It is on record that Kwara never achieve this feat, various documents showed that the highest numbers recorded was in 2017, which was 42% to capital and 83% to the recurrent.
This efforts show some improvements in workdone, especially in area prof capital projects of this administration, ranging from road rehabilitations, schools and hospitals.
Also, on the recurrent, reinstatement of the MDAs subvention gave rise to the performance. It is a known fact, that MDAs now get running cost to keep their agencies running.
Evidently, this administration has been prudent enough in ensuring that the little resources is utilized efficiently, without any burden of taking a new loan and continuing the repayment owed by the last administration.
Records have it that Kwara debt is to the tune of N63billion as domestic debt, while the sum of $47million as at 31st December, 2019, including contractual debt of about N13Bn.
Finally, one can only hope this is continue as we move on.
