One Kwara Agenda mourns death of Ilorin Grand Chief Imam
The leadership of One Kwara Agenda has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Grand Chief Imam of the Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Mohammad Bashir Soliu, OON, describing his passing as a monumental loss to Kwara State, Nigeria and the global Muslim community.
In a condolence message issued on Monday, the group extended its sympathies to the Emir of Ilorin, His Imperial Majesty, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the family of the late cleric, the Muslim Ummah and the entire Ilorin Emirate.
One Kwara Agenda described the late Sheikh Bashir as a revered spiritual leader, moral compass and bridge-builder whose life was wholly devoted to the service of Allah, humanity and the promotion of peace and harmony within and beyond Kwara State.
According to the statement, the Grand Chief Imam’s vast knowledge, wisdom, humility and unwavering commitment to faith and community development left an indelible mark on generations.
“Today, Nigeria has lost a distinguished cleric and statesman of faith, Ilorin has lost a father, and the Muslim Ummah has lost a guiding light,” the group stated, noting that despite the grief occasioned by his death, comfort is drawn from the exemplary life and enduring legacy of righteousness, unity and compassion he left behind
