One killed as 2-storey building collapses in Lagos

One person has been confirmed dead in a fresh collapse of building in Freeman Street, Lagos Island.

The two storey building which was under construction reportedly collapsed during a heavy rainfall in the affected area.

Ibrahim Farinloye, Head of National Emergency Management Agency, Lagos, confirmed the incident.

“One rescued alive and one died. Responders are on the way,” he said.

Recall that on Sunday, May 1, 2022, a three storey building collapsed at Ebute Metta, Lagos Mainland, which took the lives of no fewer than 10 persons.
