Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Oyeyemi Oyediran, on Friday vowed to bring suspected gunmen who killed people at the Melenge Camp in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area (LGA) of the state to book.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that no fewer than three persons allegedly shot dead and burnt several houses on Thursday night at the Melenge camp along Elerinla, near Arimogija, in Ose Council Area of Ondo State.
Oyediran made the vows when he visited the Melenge Camp on Friday for an on-the-spot assessment to ascertain the level of damage caused in the area by suspected marauders who attacked the camp and razed houses overnight.
During his visit to the scene, the CP met with community members, encouraged them, allayed their fears and vowed to arrest and prosecute all those involved in the evil act.
“I have deployed men of the special squads and Police Mobile Force personnel to the community to ensure the protection of lives and property in the area,” he said.
The CP, who assured the good people of Ondo state of adequate protection of lives and properties, enjoined members of public to give the police genuine information that would help reduce crime to the barest minimum in the state.(NAN)
