Onanuga as INEC Chairman won’t safe your defeat in 2027 – ADC youths tell Tinubu
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) youths have pledged to secure victory over President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections, asserting that their campaign will remain strong despite any potential manipulations, including the proposed appointment of his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The youths voiced their determination during a statement made in Abuja, coinciding with the upcoming departure of INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, whose term is set to end in December 2025. They issued a stern warning to the President against attempts to influence the replacement process.
Operating under the banner of the African Democratic Youth Congress (ADYC), the youths emphasized their readiness to counter any tactics used by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to undermine the people’s choice.
“Politics is about numbers. They can bring as much money they have but we are going to beat them silly in 2027,” they declared.
Commenting on recent remarks from Onanuga, they added, “We saw Onanuga asking how market. The waters have been tested. We have other elections coming up and that is when they will know how market is because it is going to be fire for fire.”
