The Director of Center for Community Development, Kwara State University, Mr Lawal O. Olohungbebe and the Head of Early Childhood and Primary Education Kwara State University, Dr Temitayo Ogunsanwo have been honoured with awards of excellence by an international non-governmental organization, OneAfricanChild.
In a statement sent to THE INFORMANT247 by the foundation, they said, “These are two great and selfless personality who has over the years commit their time, money and resources into community development and quality education.
Explaining further, they said, “We started working with Dr Temitayo over 2years ago on Gaa-Alaanu community, a settlement with 70-80 people but has no quality education infrastructure and she took it up on her own to make sure the kids have access to quality education and sustainable learning environment and since we’ve connected with her in 2017, We’ve been consistence in providing the kids and the village with all the resources and training we could offer and more also trained the undergraduate and postgraduate student of her department on GCED and Peace Education.
“Early this year, Dr Temitayo connect us with Mr Lawal Oloungbebe, a passionate and selfless community developer who has over the years developed some major part of Kwara State through his humanitarian service as a Director of Center for Community Development and Director of HIDS.
“Mr Lawal, earlier this year welcome us with an open hand and heart despite our short notice on our Global Sport Initiatives project we did with three German students from University of Cologne, Germany [Fabian Otte, Kaija Ru and Maya] who create games that could build up team building, critical thinking, empathy and creative thinking among students and communities.
“Mr Lawal through his office and the Former VC of Kwara State University, Prof AbdulRasheed Na’Allah gave their full support on housing and logistics, and we reach quite a number of Schools,communities and children.
“Since then he has always given us his full support on all our projects in the low income communities especially in Moro Local Government.
“We at OneAfricanChild believe in appreciation and celebrating selfless and amazing personalites who support our vision to Quality education and peace building as we honoured this two great Leader with “Award of Excellence” through their humanitarian services.”
The organization encouraged people to do more in contributing their quota to develop the world.
