Following a resolution by the Management of Federal Polytechnic, Offa to introduce E-voting system in the election of Students Union Leadership of the institution, students of the Federal government owned institution have greeted the school management’s decision with sheer backlash, noting that the E-voting system will only mar the election process.
Scores of students argued that the system will be easily manipulated under the pretext of technical error as it was the case in the school’s previous SUG election.
The students in their dissenting voices, however chided the echelons of National Association of Nigerian Students and National Association of Polytechnic Students (NANS/NAPS) for giving nods to what they referred to as ‘witty scheme’ to technically disenfranchise and impose some anointed candidates in the students.
The students further knocked NANS and NAPS for not consulting them before taking crucial decisions on their behalf.
