Olododo Educational Initiative supports students across Ilorin East, South
Hundreds of students across communities in Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency of Kwara State have benefited from an educational support initiative sponsored by Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo.
The initiative provided school bags, exercise books and other writing materials to students from JSS1 to SSS3, while some high-performing senior secondary school students received scholarships to cover their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees.
The latest phase of the outreach was held across Alalubosa Maraba, Sabo-Oke and Oke-Aluko communities in Ilorin East.
At Alalubosa Maraba LGEA Primary School, pupils, parents and community stakeholders gathered for the distribution of the educational materials.
Speaking on behalf of the President of the Alalubosa Youth Development Association, Mallam Abdulraheem Saliu, the association’s Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Saheed Kayode, urged the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously and make effective use of the support.
The outreach later moved to Sabo-Oke, where more students received learning materials.
The Vice Chairman of the Okelele Youth League and Chairman of its Education Committee, Alade Abdulrasheed, commended the initiative, saying support for students could help ease the educational burden on families while encouraging academic excellence.
He also noted that recognising outstanding students could motivate others in the community to work harder and prepare better for examinations.
The programme concluded in Oke-Aluko, where high-performing secondary school students across the ward received educational assistance.
One of the beneficiaries, Musa Waliyat, who received a WASSCE scholarship, expressed appreciation for the support and urged other students to remain committed to their studies.
Olododo, an engineer and the 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency, said the initiative was aimed at supporting students and easing the financial burden of education on low-income families.
Organisers said more wards and communities across the constituency are expected to benefit from subsequent phases of the initiative.
